This plug is 8 months late, but better late than never! Myself and my 'Film Wars' co-host Gareth Alexander appear in Kim Justice's Christmas Special. Kim is the queen of video game documentary excellence, so if you enjoy such things - do check out her Youtube channel - it's superb.

Big Finish / Doctor Who Commission

I'm delighted to say that I have been commissioned by Big Finish Productions to write a Doctor Who audio drama. Big Finish are perhaps best known for their Doctor Who ranges and various spin-offs, but also produce audio drama featuring Sherlock Holmes, Blake's 7, 2000 AD, among others. It's a real thrill to be working with them -  I've been a fan of their excellent output for many years.

I can't divulge any of the details of the story at this point - but as you can probably imagine, I'm pretty darn excited. I'll tell you more as soon as I am able.

The Future Boys!

Future Boys Release Date

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign at the beginning of 2017, the first 2 episodes of 'The Future Boys' will be released on Saturday 24th June 2017 via iTunes and SoundCloud.

Having spent two years apart and taken up new identities, Tyler and Gary are unwittingly brought back together by Rik Sheringham, a galaxy-renowned treasure hunter, celebrity and old school friend/enemy of Tyler's. Sheringham's deal is simple - Tyler and Gary must undergo a series of daring and dangerous heists on his behalf, or be handed over to the authorities and forced to face the death sentence that has been looming over their heads for years. Can Tyler and Gary re-unite and stay on the same page long enough to complete the job? Or are they doomed to fail? Either way, there seems to be more to the jobs than a simple robbery, and Sheringham's intentions may not be all they seem...

'Claws' Review

So thrilled with the following review for 'Claws', I just had to share it.

'When I reached this story title I was expecting some kind of Cornish sea-monster, but oh boy was I wrong. For me this is the stand-out story of the bunch because it pushed every one of my buttons. It’s setting is an amusement arcade in Newquay. I’ve spent way too much time (and money) in Newquay’s arcades and Steve Jordan captured the essence of them as if he was a local. The characters, location and details are trapped in amber from my time there and the horror is interwoven with such humour that I laughed out loud in places whilst being suitably horrified in others. It’s not trying to be big and clever but achieves both. Loved it.'

You can read the entire review by Joe X Young, which covers all of the excellent stories from Terror Tales of Cornwall in full, here on Ginger Nuts of Horror.

Terror Tales of Cornwall

I'm very pleased to have a short story in the latest edition in the Terror Tales series, edited by Paul Finch. Hugely grateful to Paul for giving me the opportunity to be in print again. The book is available on amazon for Kindle, and paperback.

Cornwall, England’s most scenic county: windswept moors, rugged cliffs and wild, foaming seas. But smugglers and wreckers once haunted its hidden coves, mermaid myths abound, pixie lore lingers, henges signal a pagan past, and fanged beasts stalk the ancient, overgrown lanes …
The serpent woman of Pengersick
The screaming demon of Land’s End
The nightmare masquerade at Padstow
The feathered horror of Mawnan
The terrible voice at St. Agnes
The ritual slaughter at Crantock
The hoof-footed fetch of Bodmin Moor
And many more chilling tales by Mark Morris, Ray Cluley, Reggie Oliver, Sarah Singleton, Mark Samuels, Thana Niveau and other award-winning masters and mistresses of the macabre.

Success!

84 backers pledged £4,148 to help bring our new science fiction sitcom to life!

Here's our project update from the Kickstarter page:

Hi everyone! Just a quick message to say – we've made it! With just under 3 days to go, we've just hit our £4000 funding goal. Incredible. The generosity and enthusiasm of our backers has been genuinely unbelievable - there are not enough words to show our gratitude, but we'll be throwing as many of them as we can your way in the coming days! On behalf of myself, Ellen, Cliff, Rob, Emma & Adam - THANK YOU.
Tyler and Gary’s galactic expedition of thievery and swearing is GO. They’ll be proper chuffed with themselves.'
2 episodes of the show will be recording in late March, with a view to release the episodes commercially as soon as humanly possible. Kickstarter pledgers can expect all their rewards by the end of May 2017!

Kickstarter Campaign!

Today we launch our very first Kickstarter campaign to fund the live recording and digital release of 2 episodes of 'The Future Boys', a new science fiction audio sitcom.

VISIT THE KICKSTARTER PAGE! CLICK HERE.

THE SERIES

The goal of this Kickstarter project is to fund the recording of two 30-minute audio episodes in front of a live audience in a theatre in London, and to release these episodes online to our backers. Depending on how this goes, we hope to make the rest of the series one day - this is first step on what we hope will be a much longer adventure for the Future Boys…
Obviously most people reading this won't have seen Tyler and Gary's theatre exploits - never fear! The audio series will be comprised of brand new stand-alone adventures, meaning you will not need to have seen their previous stories to enjoy the show.
For those of you who are already familiar with Tyler and Gary and have attended the live shows - thank you so much for your support, it really means the world to us, and we hope you'll continue to support this new project and help us get the Future Boys out there. It’s all-new material, so if you want to know what the guys have been up to since you last saw them - now’s your chance!

THE TEAM

We’re thrilled to have such a wonderful team of professionals at the ready – but we need your support to help us raise the funds required to make these episodes a reality.

REVIEWS

Comedy is incredibly subjective – how on earth will you know if you’ll like the series? Well, you can find some clips of the live shows in our video below, but don’t just take our word for it that the show will be funny! Here's some selected praise from the plays - Dead Static (2012), Pilgrim Shadow (2013/4), and King Chaos (2015).

'Bad Bat have established themselves as seriously hot talent in sci-fi comedy and will surely continue to capitalise on that well-earned reputation.' - Views from the Gods, reviewing King Chaos (★★★★).
'The makings of a classic series.' – Snipe London, reviewing Dead Static.
'Writer, producer and director, Steve Jordan has created a wonderfully silly and comic sci-fi universe that, with all its nods and winks to other works, stands very much on its own two feet.' - Camden Fringe Voyeur, reviewing King Chaos.
'The entire hour of the play is joke after joke so there is very little pause between laughs... would make a great television show (Blackadder meets Dr Who) with its fun-filled adventures...' - A Younger Theatre, reviewing King Chaos.
'Any time spent with these characters is a joy.' - Views from the Gods, reviewing Pilgrim Shadow (★★★★).
'Exciting and hilarious science fiction…' - Remote Goat, reviewing Pilgrim Shadow (★★★★).
Splendidly thoughtful and hilarious…' - Forbidden Planet International, reviewing Dead Static.
